My first Hair Care post

It recently hit me I have yet to post anything about hair i.e. care, styling, tip, tricks. So today I'm gonna talk about my personal hair care. I personally wash my hair everyday it helps to get my day going plus I hate that grimy feeling you get when you have like two day hair I cant handle it yuck. So for daily shampoo I like to use something that is clear as apposed to a shampoo that is creamy or opalescent looking. Clear shampoo has less conditions so it will give a better clean. For conditioner I like something that says smoothing or sleek any of those type adjectives I really don't know if it really works but I tend to gravitate towards those conditioners. The next part of my daily routine is to spray Apple Cider Vinegar in my hair I spray this all over from scalp to ends brush my teeth then rinse the vinegar out thoroughly so you don't end up with vinegar smelling hair. I wrap my hair in a towel to dry it a little bit put on my makeup then go back to my hair I spray a leave in conditioner on my ends my favorite one is from Big Sexy Hair the health Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat leave in conditioner. This product smells so good and works wonderfully like my tangles just disappear and my hair just feels like silk. I like to use a paddle brush with plastic bristles and boar hair bristles mixed. The boar help close the hairs cuticle to make the hair smooth and shiny. If I'm going to flat iron my hair I use a heat protecting spray. For the finishing touch I use just a little but of Moroccan oil to help keep some moisture in my hair and add just a touch of shine.

I bought this a long time ago used it put it in the back of my drawer and forgot about it re found it and fell in love with it. I love to wear this with dark grey smokey eye the warmth of the blush really complements the look but you can wear this with any eye look. If your pale to medium skin tone I definitely recommend this blush its a good price.

November Favorites

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Thanksgiving. I don't have alot of Favorites this month some good older stuff I had and a few new things.
  1. Is a new item to me its Urban Decays All Nighter setting spray I got a free sample and it really works for me I do have to touch up my nose and forehead because they do get shiny but my makeup stays in place all day.
  2. Number two is a blush I found while organizing my vanity its Milani's Luminoso Baked Minerlized blush its such a nice blush to wear with dark smokey looks because it doesn't compete with any eye look.
  3. The eyeshadow look I wore most of the month is from my smoked palette I really enjoy this palette but the look is Mushroom on the lid Freestyle in the crease and backdoor in the outer V and a little bit in the crease.
  4. Four is my new highlight shade in Whisper of Guilt its such a nice golden glow.

Urban Decay Haul

I little while back Urban Decay had a deal were if you bought two single eyeshadows your got the six pan eyeshadow palette free. I thought this was a great deal you got a free palette that comes with an eyeshadow and brush there were also doing free shipping during that sale so you get a total of three shadows and a palette for like thirty dollars. I eyeshadows I picked were Sellout and Blunt the free shadow was Walk of Shame. Sellout is a frosty light pink highlight shade, Blunt is a peachy gold shade its really pretty on blue eyes, and Walk of Shame is a Matt pale skin tone shade its got a slight pink undertone. The palette is like the Naked 2 palette were its metal and has clasps it really durable I would feel safe traveling with this palette. oh you also got a sample size of All Nighter there setting spray which I have never used before and really enjoyed it and would purchase it on its own.

Demi Lovato Makeup Break Down

If you ask me this is makeup Perfection! A perfect smokey eye the perfect amount of blush and bronzer and the perfect lip color. This is gonna be a long one so buckle up and lets go. This is defiantly party or going out makeup so were gonna take some extra steps so the makeup stays on all day. After toning and moisturizing your skin apply a foundation primer I like Urban Decay brighting and tighting or Hourglass mineral veil. For foundation use something that's more of a fuller coverage than a day to day foundation like Mac Studio Fix Fluid or Revlon Colorstay Oily/combo skin. Buff that into your skin using a Beauty Blender or Flat top Kabuki style Brush. You don't see one blemish or under eye circles so for concealer use something like Mac studio Finish type concealer or Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer. Use your finger to rub it in the heat from your fingers will get a better result. Don't powder for face yet save that for the end. Next prime your eye lids and fill in your brows. dust a light layer of your face powder over the eye to set the primer this will also help the other colors blend. So for eye shadows your going to need a matte black eyeshadow a really nice velvet-ty and pigmented, a medium to dark warm shimmery gunmetal color and a transition shade which is a matte eyeshadow that is 2 to 3 shades darker than your skin tone for me that's Macs Moleskin, Wedge, kid or Urban Decays Naked eyeshadow and a highlight shade. Now take a flat concealer brush and a black base you can use a gel eyeliner or a product like  NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean. Apply it to your lid stay under your crease (be very careful about that part) using a blending brush blend that out, next pat your black shadow all over your lid stay out of the crease. using a clean blending brush and using your transition shadow use wind shield wiper motion and blend the black out. Wipe off that blending brush and use the shimmery gunmetal color and buff it in to the black you blended out use just enough so its noticeable but not over powering the black now take a little bit more transition shade above the black and gunmetal your doing that to warm it back up. Now apply more black base to the lower lash line and buff the black into it and then some gunmetal over that take it all the way into the tear duct. Finally apply your highlight shade and just a touch of it in the tear duct. Apply a thin line of liquid liner to the top lash line and gel or pencil to the lower lash line make sure no flesh is showing. Get out you volume mascara and false lashes out I'm gonna use Ardelle Demi Wispies and Revlon Precision lash glue. Now finally powder your face and apply a light dusting of Bronzer, for blush I would use something like Nars Deep Throat. Her lips are nude and glossy so use the nude lipstick that looks best on you and a clear gloss. Now your finally finished and look as fab as Demi!

October Favorites

October Favorites

My first favorite is my Disney for Sephora Cinderella Compact. I love Disney Stuff I have a small collection of Marie Stuff from aristocats she is my favorite character. I hope Disney and Sephora keep doing princess collaborations I would love to collect all of the compacts.  On the Inside of the compact it says "Time for your moment."

Number 2 is a blush from Lorac that I totally forgot I owned this blush I bought it in a set it came it a beautiful little lace makeup bag 3 lip glosses 1 blush and 2 eye shadows. So I was shopping my stash and found this blush its called Rendezvous. To put it in Mac terms I would call it a sheertone Shimmer its a medium pink with a pretty pearl sheen to it it gives me that "I just walked through a snow storm Pinched cheek look" I think ill will defiantly be wearing this more this season. It is so soft and almost creamy feeling.

Number 3 is the eyeshadow combination Ive been wearing this month is from the Urban Decay Smoked Pallet. Its really simple but looks smokey and complex on the lid. On my tear duct and brow bone I use Kinky, on the lid and a lil bit on the crease I sweep on mushroom using a flat soft blending brush like the Sigma E25. then using a angled shading brush use just a little bit of Backdoor shadow in the outer "V" and in the crease. lastly using a blending brush use just a small amount of Freestyle to buff out and warm up the Mushroom and Backdoor. On the lower Lash line buff in Mushroom all the way across and Backdoor on the outer corner. Add some black liner and mascara and call it a day.

So not a lost of faves this month but some pretty good ones! I hope everyone had a great month and safe Halloween.

Emily Fields makeup Break Down

Emily is an athlete and trying to figure out her friends murder. Her skin is matt and long lasting so break out Macs Prolong Wear Foundation and buff and blend it into your skin and set it if you need to. For concealer I would use either Macs Prolong Wear concealer or any full converge long wear concealer. I don't see any blush but if you need to use it I would suggest using Macs Peaches Blush. Shes very tan I would only suggest using a matt bronzer no shimmer I would use Urban Decays Toasted sweep this on the hallows of your cheeks and along your hair line.

Usually she doesn't have much of an eyeshadow look like the other girls mostly just eyeliner but every now and then she and a medium matt grey shadow on the lid and strong black liner. For Shadow I could really only find one shadow the really fit and it was Macs Copperplate so sweep at on the lid and lower lash line use gel line on the upper lash line in a thick line. no liner on the water line just the shadow to add definition. Fill in your Brows and apply favorite mascara.

For lips use any nude lips color that looks good on you. use gloss if you want to.

How I do my brows

Its really rather simple but you have to do it just right or you end up with chola sharpie eyebrows.  Using 4 awesome cheap tools you too can have nice groomed brows. Lets start with the tools, Sonia Kashuk spoolie, NYX Slide on eyeliner in Brown Perfection, ELF Small Angled Brush, and NYX Eyebrow Shaper. So start of with combing through your brows with the spoolie I then take the lid of my setting powder and draw a line of the eyeliner next take the smalled angled brush and dip it into the line of liner using very soft short strokes start filling them in I start on the bottom on my brow to get a define line then I go to the top line the still using soft short strokes I arch my brow to get a nice soft arch then what ever in left on the brush I fill in the rest of my brow. Once I get the shape and desired effect I take my NYX Brow Shaper which is just brow wax in a pencil form I run that over them to hold my tricky hairs in place. I used to really not like my eyebrows I found them annoying and a hassle I would fill them in in the morning my by early afternoon them would be worn off but now that I'm shaping them myself using the Sally Hansen Wax strip kit and this new brow routine I love them they really stay on all day and night.

September Favorites

Well September is one of my favorite months because it was the month of my birth and this year was especially fun because I turned 21!!! some of my faves it month are new to me and are truly staples in my life.

My first Favorite is probably my most favorite it Viktor & Rolf Flower Bomb Eau de Perfume spray my dad got me as a present. It smells so good, my old favorite perfume was Ambitious from Tilly's but now its Flower Bomb its like a grown up scent lol plus its really cute it looks like a sexy grenade.

Number two is so wonderful I've seen them in YouTube videos but never shelled out the money for one so when I could get it and its cleanser for a good price and then 20% off I jumped on it and IT is the Famous Beauty Blender OMG this thing is awesome! It blends any foundation in to make it look like real skin. I never have to worry about foundation lines again!!

Naked skin Foundation is Great in general but with the Beauty Blender my skin looks perfect flawless even.

I guess this month I really focused on flawless skin because this next one helps with my under eye area and small blemishes. I don't want to speak to soon but I'm thinking this might become a Holy Grail product for me and it is Urban Decays 24/7 concealer pencil in FBI.

I usually wear my nude on board bronzer but this month I used the bronzer in the E.L.F. Blush and Bronzer duo the Nars Orgasm and Laguna dupe. I love both products the blush is SO pretty on NC20 skin or any warm toned skin really and the bronzer is darker than Nude on Board so it a little bit more noticeable on me. The only thing I find with this bronzer is I cant sweep it on it ends up looking weird I cant really put my finger on it but weird so I use a flat top brush and stamp it on under my cheek bones and along my hair line and it looks way better that way.

And with the Orgasm dupe I love using the Bdellium Tools 953 duo fiber brush to really buff in the blush it ends up looking really nice.

This month I think I pretty much wore the "Spencer" Makeup look I did in a previous makeup breakdown on.

Whats in my travel makeup bag

I don't travel alot usually family get away weekends or holidays with my out of state family. I didn't think I packed alot of makeup but now that I'm looking at it it looks like a alot. I have so many makeup bags which is funny because I don't carry makeup with me in my purse and I'm not a world traveler so why do I have some many totes because they cute and I usually get them for cheap at Ross lol like the Betsey Johnson Betseyville hot pink, purple, yellow and orange leopard bag which is my favorite and what I'm currently using. So lets get to the fun part the makeup and tools. For foundation and concealer I alternate between Revlon Colorstay in 150 Buff Urban Decay 2.0 and concealers I pack Hard Candy Glamoflauge in light or Urban Decay FBI those are my favorite face products. Setting powder is Rimmel Stay Matt in Creamy Natural Blush and Bronzer I pack ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder the Nars Laugna and Orgasm dupe. On to eyes, my favorite eyeshadow primer which is Urban Decay Eden Primer Potion , for eyebrows I use NYX Nude Matt shadow in Betrayal and liner is between two Macs Blacktrack Fluid line or Urban Decays perversion pencil Liner. I like to pack and eyeshadow quad or palette for trips they hold multiple shadows and can be quite compact So I either like to pack Big surprise here Urban Decays Smoked or Naked 2 pallets but with both of those I have to pack a single crease eyeshadow like Macs Moleskin or Urban Decays Naked which is fine because I know ill use it. And Mascara it will most likely be L'oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black. Finally lips will Start of with lip balm I just got Fresh Sugar lip treatment Macs Lipstick in Plink or Perfect Day and for gloss will be my favorite in Revlon Colorburst lipgloss in Bellini. For brushes I pack 12, ELF brushes flat top powder brush contour brush & 2 small angled brush, Bdellium tools in 953 & 781, Sigma brushes In F40, E55, E25, E40, E60 and a cheap brow comb and spoolie from target plus one Beauty Blender and eye lash Curler. and the very last thing is Parian Spirit brush cleaner in a small travel spray bottle.

Aria Montgomery's Makeup Breakdown

Aria's skin looks flawless but still like skin its not cakey or thick. So foundations like Makeup Forever HD, mac Face and Body Urban Decay Naked Skin will be the right guys for the job. Use your favorite under eye concealer I like Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Or Hard Candy Glamoflauge. Her skin looks a little bit warmed up so use a sheer type bronzer a dust it on your cheek bones and along your forehead blending it into your hairline. For blush I would use a cream blush like Urban Decays Indecent NYX Natural or NYX Orange use your fingers to blend the blush in the heat from your fingers will help it melt in to your skin for the really smooth naturally flush look.

Her eyes are a dramatic but still wearable for daytime activates like work and school. I see her wearing shades Like urban decays Suspect and Snakebite most of the time Which are a light taupe-y gold shade and a dark bronze. So prime your eyes with your favorite primer mine is Urban Decay Eden primer potion. Next use a small shader brush and tap on Suspect to your eyelid stay under your crease now take a tapered crease brush a work in Snakebite in a backwards "C" shape at the outer corner and into the crease using the same brush blend snakebite on the lower lash line. Use a clean blending brush and use windshield wiper motions to blend out the edges. Only line the upper lash to and just a thin line to make your lashes look bigger use a flesh toned eyeliner like Stilla eye kajal in topaz. Use a volumizing mascara and a good couple coats.

Her lips a a nice strawberry pink so I used Revlon Colorburst lips gloss in Strawberry.

Makeup Heaven has a Name and it is called Naimie's

Yes it is true there is a heaven out there its called Naimie's and the only thing that could make it better is urban decay and a shirtless Chance Crawford... A girl can dream right!?! The store is located in North Hollywood I had know idea what I was walking into when I found Naimies on the Internet I was thinking a rundown little shop and needed a face lift badly BUT I was so wrong is a two story palace I was to say the least over whelmed lol. The first story is the wig, hot tools and bulk departments the second story is makeup counters like Nars, Mac, Makeup Forever, Smashbox, Ben Nye, Eve Pearl, Bobbi Brown and tons other. The best Part is the if your a student you get a 20% discount and if your a professional you get a 40 % discount on all the cosmetic company's yes all that are named above. YES THE MAKEUP GODS HAVE BLESSED US!!!!!!!!!!!! I did not go crazy and buy one of everything I had to refrain myself I Bought two Bdellium Tools brushes the 953 and 781, a 2 ounce Parian Spirit brush cleanser and a beauty blender sponge and 3 ounce cleanser. The brushes are a small duo fiber foundation brush and a tapered eyeshadow blending brush. Parian Spirit is the best brush cleanser on the market I bought a small bottle only cause a little goes a long way with this cleanser. I bought the Beauty Blender and it's cleanser I bought it as a set. I am for sure going back to stock up on a ton of stuff lol. I would suggest going ther even if you are not a student or a pro just cause the place is super fun!

P.S. I will be doing reviews on all of the things I bought.

Spencer Hasting's Makeup Breakdown

Spencer's skin looks very natural like her skin is flawless just by itself but it does have a matt finish. Her cheek bones and jawline are naturally defined but look to have a a slight shading  to them also along her temple.  For foundation I suggest Urban Decays Naked Skin, Makeup Forever HD, Mac Face and Body or Makeup Forever Face and Body. Use an concealer like Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer or Mac Studio Finish for under eyes and blemishes. Set it with a powder like Rimmel Stay Matt, Sephora Microsmooth Face Powder or Macs Minerlize Skinfinish Natural. Use a very natural light almost sheer contour powder along the hallows of the cheeks under the jaw and on the top of your temple next to the highest part of the brow.  No bronzer this time and for blush I suggest a warm peachy pink blush like Nars Deep Throat just dust it on the backs of your cheek bone into the hairline keep it off  the apples of your cheeks this will help keep a chiseled look.

For the eyes prime them with your favorite shadow primer mine are Urban Decay's Primer Potion in Edin, Mac's paint in Bare Canvas or Macs paint pot in soft ocher. now take Maybelline color Tattoo in barely beige on the tear duct and on to your lid stopping halfway I use the middle of pupil to tell. take a shadow like Urban Decays Bootycall and pat that on the the Barely Beige. Now pat a color like Macs Wedge, Kid or moleskin, Urban Decays Naked eyeshadow and on the outer corner your going to and a harsh line were the two colors meet blend them together by patting your brush over the line until it softens. the outer most part of her eye is a smokey taupe like Urban Decay's Mushroom lets start by pushing this shade into the lower and upper lash line make this line a little bit thick  on the lower lash line the line on the upper line. Now take Mushroom and make a backwards "C" shape now blend to make it soft looking. With the eye liner start at the inner corner with a thin line making it thicker going toward the outer and making a little flick at the end curl your lashes and use a lengthening mascara. Now for brows fill them in using a brow powder I think it looks softer and more natural looking and a brow pencil.

Lips are really easy use a sheer light pink lipstick like Mac's Plink.

Hanna Marin Makeup Breakdown

Hanna's makeup needs to last all day cause going to high school and trying to figure out who is blackmailing her and killed her best friend is tough work and you can't have your face sliding of in the middle of you day. For foundation I would use Revlon's ColorStay because its medium to full coverage and it really last all day long. With this foundation I would suggest working in sections of your face cause it drys fast and sets so blend blend blend and work fast.Use an concealer like Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer or Mac Studio Finish for under eyes and blemishes. Set the foundation with your favorite powder mine is Rimmel Stay Matt. In the Photo Hanna has a nice bronze glow to her skin but its not shimmery so use a Matt bronzer along the bottoms of your cheek bones and work it in to your temples and hair line. With blush I did go shimmery I used Mac's MSF in Lightyear using a duo fiber brush right on my cheek bone.

Her eyes are wonderfully smokey so for that I used a eyeshadow primer use your favorite then I used  Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze as a base to help make the shadow last all day and make the color to make it deeper and smokey-er. Apply the Bad to the Bronze and the lid below the crease and along the lower lash line. Then take any dark bronze or medium brown shimmery eye shadow I use either Urban Decays Snakebite or Barlust pat this wear you put bad to the bronze don't take the shadow up any higher stop at the crease. Then take your favorite crease color mine is either Mac's moleskin or Urban decays naked use windshield wiper motion until the dark lid shade and your crease shade are blended seamlessly into one another. get your face powder back out use the same blending brush as before and use it and your powder as an eyeshadow to blend along your brown bone now use your fave brow bone highlight mine is Urban Decays Bootycall.  her liner on the top lash line is a thin black line going thiker on the outer corners, and a dark brown liner or bronze on the bottom watter line. Slap on three coats of your fave mascara or if your wearing this out at night false lashes.

Her lips are a juicy Coral lip gloss I don't own anything like that so i wore a nude lip instead it looked great with this look.

Now your ready to to find out who the real A is and take them down just like the fabulous Hanna Marin.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

Urban decay finally came out with a foundation worth talking about. The Naked skin weightless ultra definition liquid makeup. To make this short and sweet if you like Makeup Forever HD foundation or Macs Face and Body then I think you will most likely enjoy this foundation. For being such a thin watery foundation it covers really well. Theres no SPF in this foundation so you don't have to worry about flash back in photos. unlike the foundations I said earlier this foundation dries down to a semi Matt finish. I want to try it with one of UD face primers and setting sprays to see if it last a really long time. I love this foundation I have just a little bit of redness on my cheeks and a white vitiligo spot on my chin and this covers it easily I found I get the best result when I use my Beauty Blender and set it with a light dusting of Rimmel Stay Matt and I really like the way it looks. 2.0 is my perfect match I have never had a foundation match me so well when I look in the mirror iIcant see were the foundation ends and my skin starts.

The First Ever Makeup Breakdown

I love watching makeup tutorials but I really don't have the time for the equipment to film videos that I think are up to theses new standards your youcam on your laptop just isn't good enough I think anymore. So I'm gonna do makeup breakdowns of celeb looks I like or just editorials Ill show the picture products I think match our are close match to get the same look. My first look will be this beautiful look from Amber Heard at the 2012 15th annual Hollywood gala. so lets get started.

Lets start off with face makeup. To me her foundation looks semi matt I find the easiest way to achieve this is use a dewey foundation then set it with a matt powder. I used Macs Face & Body for concealer I used Macs Studio Finish concealer and Rimmels Stay Matt powder. Her blush looks to be a soft matt yellow based pink I use either E.L.F Tickled Pink or Mac stunner blush which is LE. Her bronzer looks to be applied very very light handed so use a bronzer that matches you but a light application. Highlight looks very soft and glowy but not glittery or obvious but it is there so I would say to use a satin finish eyeshadow.

Eyes her brows are perfection so take extra time to make sure yours are too. To start off with the shadows use a primer use what ever you have or works, then a shadow base I use Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk you just need a little bit of this because it packs a punch so blend pom punk all over the lid I use my ring finger keep it under your crease. shadows your gonna need a redy purpley shimmery color like Urban Decays Roach, a matt shade a couple shades darker than your skin like Urban Decays Naked shadow and your face powder. Pat Roach using a small shadow brush all along the lid were pom punk is then take the matt skin tone shade and blend it out along the crease till it nice and smooth and flawless use a blending brush that fits your eye socket then blend your face powder just above the matt shadow to blend that color out I use the same blending brush as before. Apply your fav highlight shade hers is matt maybe a satin shade just a tad lighter than her skin color I like my eye highlights to be a little bit shimmery so I use Urban Decays Bootycall on my brow bone and inner tear duct. Then on the lower lash line petty much do like you did on the lid use Pom punk as a base then blend Roach into it. She only as her top lash line lined with black eyeliner her bottom lash line is bare or lined with a skin toned color I don't like how that looks on my so I line my top and bottom with dark black gel liner. If your going out at night wearing this look I suggest false lashes if your wearing during the day just use a couple coats of your favorite mascara.

Lips hers are very easy use a good chapstick let that soake in wipe of any residue then use a matt soft yellow based pink lipstick like Wet N Wilds 901B Think Pink.

Now your all done!

XOXO Brooke

Monthly Favorites of August

Hi all here are my favs of the month.

1.) I picked up at the end of July the Clinique 3 step system to try out and I really like 2 of the 3 steps I don't care for the face wash it left and oily film on my face. The toner and moisturizer I like the toner makes my skin feel tingly and cool the moisturizer I like for summer because its a good summer moisturizer not to heavy feeling nice and light.

2.) My blush bronzer highlight combination. All 3 products are limited edition so sorry about that but if it helps there really dupe able. For blush I have been wearing Macs Warmth of Coral bronzer has been Nude on Board and highlight is Redhead MSF. All three of theses products are warm and glowy by themselves but together you get the nicest glow like a Greek goddess lol so nice and pretty for summer.

3.) The Urban Decay concealer pencils are really creamy which is a good thing cause they blend out nice but these pencils when applied to direct skin I find distribute to much product so I found if I use a small flat concealer style brush I use less product but still get great coverage. All my personal brushes already have a purpose so I dug around my I guess you could say junk drawer and I found the perfect brush it came from the Urban Decay Midnight Emergency kit its little flat and synthetic. The brush fits in the eye area and on blemishes just perfect blends it out just right.

4.) I have used Lo real voluminous carbon black mascara for years now I have tried other mascaras but I never found anything I liked as much as VCB so I kinda stopped trying other mascaras but recently I found one that I like BETTER! In my mind its VCB's better looking sister because its Lo Real voluminous million lashes. I get volume and length but the same blackest black color. the only flaw is that it has a rubber wand so sometimes I poke my self lol.

5.) My new secret weapon its kinda a known fact that the Urban Decays pencils that to get the best sharpening results you have to use there pencils sharpener. I have a little bit of a hard time spending 10 dollars on a pencil sharpener I'm sure its great and worth it but still that's expensive for a sharpener. one day I was at Sally's beauty supply and found a cute hot pink double barreled pencil sharpener for I think 89 cents so I bought it and it works wonderful. I have also heard that is you get the pencils cold they sharpened Even better so I'm gonna test that theory out and report back.

Urban Decay Smoked Pallet

I am stoked about this pallet I love dark dramatic eyeshadow looks. For me personally this was a good deal at 49 dollars I needed a new black pencil liner I have been wanting to try perversion I need a new primer potion the pallet had some beautiful Jewel toned colors I have been drowning in a sea of natural shades so theses are nice to have. The 3 shades that really sealed the deal for me were mushroom, barlust and rockstar. It also came with this really cool really detailed look book I have tried a few of the looks and there beautiful looks very night time sexy mysterious looks. Here are my descriptions on each color likes and dislikes.

Kinky- A true pale vanilla color I do with this was had a little bit of a sheen to it just cause that's how I like my highlight colors but I own plenty I really don't need another it would just be nice.

Freestyle- I would say Freestyle is a pale bisque shade good for a transition color Ive used this in most of the looks I have done its a good staple shade.

Mushroom- This is a difficult shade for me to describe um its a grey taupe with some warmth to it.

Backdoor- OK first off everybody is talking about this shades name because it brown and its called backdoor OK so I for real did not think that at first I thought of a bar or lounge and your going in the backdoor because for VIP or something idk haha. The shade is a matt dark brown really pigmented really smokey.

Blackout- the best matt black shadow on the market it makes Mac's Carbon look like poop a good dupe for Blackout is NYX black they make a good black. Blackout has this really nice velvet texture way smooth I own 2 blackouts one in the naked 2 pallet and this one I will honestly never need to but another black shadow cause i will never run out.

Barlust- The image I get from this shade is a really pretty girl at a bar with a wicked smoldering smokey eye totally eyeing a hot guy across the room and they both are thinking oh yeah were gonna makeout in the ladies room tonight. I love this shade its a dark bronze that is just so pretty.

Rockstar- This shade totally lives up to this name if I was doing the makeup on a famous rockstars daughter I would use this shade. Its my favorite shade in the whole pallet.

Evidence- To be honest not a fan I don't like blue shadow no matter who wears it what shade it is blues just look way trashy to me. Evidence does not have the great pigmentation and color payoff the the other shades its kinda a flop for me.

Loaded- What a cool shade its a spot on peacock color I haven't really played with this shade yet but I'm exited to. Its a great teal to have in your kit or personal stash.

Asphalt- Is a true dark grey. I like Asphalt because there is no blue undertones you get sometimes with silver grey shades. perfect for smokey eyes.

XOXO Brooke

Battle of the Inner Corner Highlight!!

Our first contender is Mac's I Get No Kick eye kohl. This cam out the limited edition Cham Pale collection. I have used this to a tiny little stub and that's how my search for my next inner corner highlight started. Even tho I've used this so much I know its not my favorite and I'm not really sure if I would repurchase it. I'm not a huge eye kohl fan in general they glide on nice but that's were it pretty much ends they don't last on me at all so I have to set it with eyeshadow it blends out almost to easily because then it just blends into thin air. I Get No Kick has the nicest color a true champagne but it also has the least amount of product at
1.36g.

Number two is Urban Decays 24/7 Glide on Shadow pencil in Sin. Theses dry and set so fast I almost don't have time to blend it in. Sin has a light pink hue to it which is nice. I think mine might be a dud i just got it but it doesn't glide on very smooth it skips and balls up if you try to add more layers. I'm gonna return my and try another cause my other one in delinquent is very smooth and glides on. Full size pencils are 2.8g.

Last but not least is Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige. This shadow has the most product at 4g blends the best has wonderful pigment and color payoff the best price tag at five bucks and once theses set they are on till you wash them off the Color Tattoos are fabulous. The only down fall is that Barely Beige is limited edition ugh why Maybelline why!!! So I guess the search will continue.

Urban Decay Roach Eyeshadow

I love this shadow so much the color the texture the sheen the lasting power the blendiblty even the pot it comes it! Let me just start off by saying i get a real kick out the Urban decays products names there provocative but funny in a tongue and cheek kind of way. Roach is a red purple with a sheen I would compare the texture to Mac's veluxe pearl eyeshadows. My favorite way to wear this is using Maybelline color tattoo in pomegranate punk as a base then roach over top blended out with Urban Decay naked or Macs moleskin with Urban Decays 24/7 glide on shadow pencil in sin to highlight the inner corner with bootycall over top and a brow bone highlight heavy black eyeliner with lots of mascara. I cant wait to try more of Urban Decays newly formulated eyeshadows.
P.S. think I have talked enough about this eyeshadow combo yet!

Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Pencil

The second post of my Urban Decay series!  My concealer pencil is in the shade FBI, theses pencils are very creamy and smooth they just melt into the skin really nice and even. I use it for both under eyes and blemishes I don't worry if this is gonna disappear or wear off it has incredible lasting power on my summer combo skin. I want to get this concealer in a few shades darker than my skin and use it as a cream contour. This concealer will not only be in my own personal makeup kit but I will also have it in my pro kit!

Urban Decay Naked 2

This will be the first of I think 6 upcoming Urban Decay posts. This Pallet is my most used pallet I find that any of the color combos look beautiful on my blue eyes. The naked 2 has 12 colors 1 double ended brush that has a flat shader side and a fluffy domed blending side its made up of synthetic bristles, and a sample size naked lip junkie. I love this pallet because I feel I can get more dramatic or smokey type looks which is how I like to wear my makeup soft face and cheeks and play up my eyes. Theses eye shadows always meet my expectations I'm never disappointed with them and have totally converted me from a die hard mac girl to a Urban Decay Girl!!!! I really like the lip junkie it comes with I keep it in my purse for retouches through out the day because I know it will go with what ever I'm wearing that day. The brush is not my favorite for eye shadows at least but I do use it. I use the flat side for cream eye bases the blending side I don't use much but every now and then I use it for concealer. So my over all thoughts are if you like smokey looks and have blue, green or hazel eyes I suggest taking a look at it.

Maybelline Color Tattoo cream gel Eyeshadows

Theses are SO awesome!!! I have Pomegranate Punk, Bold Gold and Bad to the Bronze. As of right now Pomegranate Punk is my favorite I use it as a base for Urban decays Roach eyeshadow to make a purple red smokey eye which makes my blue eyes pop. I still need to play with bold Gold and Bad to the Bronze some more to make an eye look I love as much as pom punk. All three of theses colors look great on blue eyes they would also look great on green eyes too. On the package it says 24 hours which I think is so true I had a really long sad day it lasted though tears and sleeping with makeup on (broke a makeup commandment whoops) the next morning when I woke up my smokey eye was still pretty much intact.  My final thoughts are theses are Worth there weight in gold and for six dollars the color tattoo's are the best drug store products out there. I wanna get Audacious Asphalt, Tough as Taupe and Too Cool next.

July Favorites

1.) Macs Nude on Board bronzer from Hey Sailor. I am so in love with this bronzer it give me the right amount of color to my pale skin and its really hard to go over board with it because it is sheer so u can apply say like seven layers but it still looks really natural.

2.) Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. This brush is smooth and dense the brush head is small and compact so it gets into all the nooks and crannies of the face and seamlessly blends and buffs outs any lines. I use this with my Mac face and body foundation and Urban Decays naked skin foundation.

3.) Three is actually an eye look with Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk and Urban Decays Roach eyeshadow. This look was inspired my the lovely Amber heard its a deep red purple smokey eye i use UD Naked to blend it out then UD Bootycall from the naked 2 pallet to high light my brow and inner corner.

4.) Macs new MSF's in Star Wonder and Light Year mostly  Star Wonder though only because i have played with it more and love it as a bright pop of pink blush because it gives such a healthy glow.

5.) I recently bought Rimmel's Stay Matt setting Powder to set my T zone this summer I have dry skin so I usually don't set my makeup but I have noticed that this summer I have been getting a little shiny and this works great it doesn't make my skin look dry or cakey so its a winner for me!

Revlon whipped cream foundation

I'm trying out Revlon's new foundation the whipped cream one. I am really really liking it I have dry skin but I like my foundation to last all day. The reason I like this foundation is that it leaves my skin airbrushed and healthy looking with a nice satin finish. It covers my little bit of redness on my cheeks and acne scars on my forehead. It does last through the California heat but I do notice the foundation  does fade a little bit in a few areas like my chin and forehead. So all in all this is become my go to foundation maybe even a holy grail product... well see. EDIT 7/29/2012 I can no longer wear this foundation it makes my face itch so bad which sucks because I love the finish wear and coverage.

Lipstick good as a cream blush too!!

I have dry skin so cream blush tends to look better on my skin. I am always on the look out for a new cream blush that is as good or as pretty as NYX creme blush in natural, and I may have found a second fav and it is Wet N Wilds 903C just peachy lipstick. It's not as creamy as an actual cream blush because its a matte lipstick but it has an awesome look on the skin and the lasting power is great! 903C i would describe as a smoked peach in the tube but blended out it is a soft peachy tint. I'm really loving this as a summer blush because it last and makes my dry skin still look glowy and healthy. A friend of mine who has oily skin also tried it and she liked it as well because it lasted the whole day. So my ending conclusion is if you have dry skin or oily give it a go so if you don't like it as a blush try it as a lipstick!
